The welfare of all-star cheerleaders and dancers is a paramount concern for the USASF. Since its inception, efforts have been made to offer the latest and best known practices in safety, education and ethics. The following is information on those efforts:

USASF Safety Committee will have it's first meeting on October 22, 2009. The mission of this committee is to help research, develop and execute initiatives that support a safer environment for all star cheerleaders and dancers.

USASF Sanctioning and Certification standards are made to promote best practices in every gym and at every competition.

Attached is a important study done by AACCA that places the injury risk of cheerleading into perspective with other sports. Of course, this study talks about total cheerleading, not just all star. Importantly, this is exactly what the general public thinks about when they read the paper or watch TV.
