2017 USASF YOUNG ATHLETE SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED

The United States All Star Federation (USASF) has announced the 2017 USASF Young Athlete Scholars, with five scholarships awarded. Each of these athletes show outstanding academic achievement, All Star cheer or dance talent, and have made important leadership contributions to their program and the All Star community.

Gena Evans, USASF Director of Scholarships said, "The Young Athlete Scholar recognizes all-round excellence. We are thrilled with the caliber of the applicants, representing high standards for the All Star community. It is inspirational to see such incredible athletes developing in All Star programs nationwide. We are grateful to  our Headline Sponsor, CheerSounds and the many other USASF Affiliate Members who continue to support this program."

Gena also explained that applicants' scores are based on their Leadership Service Project, performance video, coach's recommendation and academics. The 2017 Leadership Service Project focused on promoting and improving healthy eating habits of athletes within the applicant's program. In addition to planning and executing the project, applicants demonstrated their public relations skills by creating ways to promote the positive life benefits of All Star cheer and dance.
