Dear Members,
The 2010 Worlds is now in the history books. Congratulations to everyone that participated in this annual worldwide celebration of all star cheerleading excellence.
The most striking aspect of the 2010 Worlds was the growth in teams from outside the United States. International participation surged 41% from 93 cheer and dance teams in 2009 to 131 in 2010. US cheer teams were down 13% because of fewer bids available domestically while US Dance grew 25%. The biggest growth was in international dance with teams up 92%. A number of countries sent delegations to see the Worlds first hand with the plan of sending teams in 2011 so we expect the international growth to continue unabated.
I want to thank every IASF-USASF member who helped put on the Worlds, participated in the Worlds, and supported the Worlds. Without you, there would be no Worlds.
Congratulations to the 1,200 VIP’s attending and the award winners who participated in the IASF-USASF’s annual award gala. The theme of the evening was Strength through Unity and the result was nothing short of spectacular.
On my flight back home from Orlando, I sat next to a parent who told me that while her daughters team did not come close to winning, her daughter told her that the Worlds was the best experience of her life. This by itself made the 2010 Worlds one that I will never forget.
Thank you for your support.
